During the "Top 100 Players Right Now" analysis on MLB Network, former MLB player Sean Casey highlighted Pete Alonso's unmatched power-hitting ability.

The New York Mets slugger made his MLB debut in the 2019 campaign and hit 53 home runs. He set the Mets' single-season record by being the first player to smash 50+ HRs.

Referring to Alonso's hitting capabilities, Sean Casey said:

"This guy, Pete Alonso, is one of the best power hitters this game has ever seen. He does a great job of keeping that barrel in the zone, and that's why he drives the ball all over the place. Left center, right field, and to right center here."

He added:

"I want to look at his swing, though, Greg, because it is a great swing that he works on. Also, this guy generates so much power with these oak tree legs he has right here. This guy's one of the best in the business."

Apparently, Pete Alonso is aware of his power-hitting capabilities and takes pride.

"I think I’m the best power hitter on the planet," Alonso said after winning Home Run Derby Title for the second time in a row in 2021. "Being able to showcase that and really put on a fun display for fans, it’s truly a dream come true for me. When I was younger, my parents actually let me stay up past my bedtime to watch this."

Alonso won his first Home Run Derby title in 2019 and was set to defend his crown in 2020 before the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he returned to the competition in 2021 and once again emerged victorious, cementing his status as one of the best power hitters in the game today.
