"I try to never be satisfied" - Aaron Judge reveals determined mindset that has helped him succeed as he eyes another 60-homer season

Aaron Judge continues to make teams pay with his incredible hitting. He added two more home runs to his major league-leading tally of 45 home runs on Wednesday in an 8-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. His partner-in-crime, Juan Soto, also homered once and drove in five runs in Yankees win.

After the game, reporters asked the Yankees captain about his relentless approach at the plate, to which the former MVP replied:

“Until I take the jersey off my back, I want to try to get better every single year and do whatever I can to help the Yankees win a World Series. That’s why I’m here. I try to never be satisfied. This game’s given me a lot, and I’ve got to try to give my all to the game.”

The way Judge is hitting at the plate, he'll be looking to better his 62 home run record, which is the benchmark in AL for most home runs in a single season. Meanwhile, Soto also praised Judge, hailing his power and consistency:

“His power; he’s just incredible,” Soto said. “And the consistency that he has, I think that’s one of the things I admire most. It doesn’t matter if the game is 10 runs up or 10 runs down. He’s going to take a great at-bat and try to do damage to the other team.”

On Wednesday, after an 8-1 routing of the Guardians, Yankees manager Aaron Boone praised the hitting duo who contributed to all eight runs scored.

“Two guys that are great, back to back,” Boone said. “They obviously root for one another. I think they really appreciate each other; one right-handed, one left-handed. They are different in how they do it, and I think they … like doing what they did tonight.”
