The World Series is just around the corner and both the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers camps are feeling hyped up for what is set to be one of the biggest Fall Classics in recent times. Not just the players but even their spouses seem to be excited as ace pitcher Gerrit Cole's wife Amy Crawford shared a recap of the postseason so far.

On Instagram, Amy shared a carousel post with pictures and short video clips featuring her husband, their two sons - Caden and Everett - and other loved ones including her sister Jenna Crawford and a picture consisting of all the better halves of the Yankees players and staff. The popular 'Empire State of Mind' - a song based on New York's lifestyle - by Jay Z and Alicia Keys accompanied the post.

Amy and Gerrit met while the pair was attending college at UCLA. The former is also the sister of San Francisco Giants legend Brandon Crawford. The couple got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot a year later.

The final slide consisted of a video of Gerrit Cole walking away from the mound at the end of an inning during his Game 2 outing against the Cleveland Guardians. Cole pitched 4.1 innings of two-run ball and the Yanks were comfortable 6-3 winners at home at Yankee Stadium.

In big matchups, it is important to gain the first spoils and so the Yankees have named Gerrit Cole as their starter for the World Series opener. Because New York were able to wrap up their ALCS in five games, Cole gained an extra rest day to be ready for the World Series, otherwise he would be starting in Game 6.

Cole has made two appearances in the Fall Classic, where he pitched 14.0 innings and earned 6 runs as part of the 2019 Houston Astros pitching staff that ended up losing to the Washington Nationals. Overall he has a 11-6 record in 20 starts across 120.2 innings pitched in the postseason including his three starts this year.
