On Nov. 19, it was announced that Jose Siri would be traded from the Rays to the Mets. To mark the development in his career, the outfielder took to social media to show off his vibe.

On Monday evening, Siri took to his personal Instagram account to show off some of his latest style choices. Set against the tune of music by Latin musicians Arcangel and Bad Bunny, Siri showed off a silver-bleached hairstyle, some fashionable wear and big diamond earrings in a series of mirror selfies.

Siri was born in the Dominican town of Sabana Grande de Boya and enjoyed playing baseball from a rather young age. As a 17-year-old in 2012, Siri signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent and spent most of the next decade playing with various minor league clubs within the Reds and Astros organizations.

Jose Siri was involved in the 2022 trade deadline deal between the Rays, Astros and Baltimore Orioles that brought Trey Mancini to Houston. With his new team, Siri finally identified that he had the chance to make it to the big leagues.

After playing the 2022 season between the Rays and Astros, 2023 was Jose Siri's first full MLB season with one team and he broke out. In 101 contests for the Tampa Bay Rays, Siri hit .222/.267/.494 with 25 home runs and 56 RBIs.

In 2024, the Rays underwent some big lineup changes. In addition to losing Wander Franco to the restricted list, Randy Arozarena and Isaac Paredes also left town. Last season, Siri hit .187 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs in a step down from his offensive output in the previous season.

Jose Siri to make an impact for his new club

Having been traded to the Mets in return for reliever Eric Orze, the move shows that New York is serious about beefing up their lineup. As Rays President of Baseball Operations, Erik Neander said of Siri after the deal:

“Siri, he can electrify everybody that watches him play, he can electrify the audience by completing plays that few, if any, can. But it is certainly a boom-or-bust type of profile.”

Jose Siri has certainly shown an ability to produce offense in MLB. Now, fans will wait to see if that skill will be transferred successfully to the NL.
