Known for his energy and intensity, pitcher Marcus Stroman is one of the most entertaining arms in the game. However, as many people know, 'Stro can be just as becoming of the limelight off of the field.

In 1997, when Stroman was only six years old, he was featured on Nickelodeon's "Figure It Out" game show. The show sees celebrity contestants answer questions and complete challenges. If they are successful, there are prizes to be won.

During one such episode during the show's 1997-98 season, Marcus Stroman was selected as a lucky audience member. He won a Toys "R" Us gift certificate on account of a correct answer from child actor Amanda Bynes. Bynes was 11 at the time and made several appearances on the show.

Some twelve years after the episode aired, Stroman was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 18th round of the 2009 draft. Although it would take some time for Stroman to achieve regular pitcher status, he would eventually become quite a force to be reckoned with.

Making his MLB debut for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2014, Stroman soon came to be known as a rising star within pitching circles. In 2017, the New York native had a breakout year, posting a 3.09 ERA alongside a 13-9 record across 201 innings. On account of the surgent performance, he was awarded a Gold Glove and finished eighth in AL Cy Young voting.

Upon his departure from the Jays, Stroman spent a pair of seasons on the Mets before arriving with the Chicago Cubs before the 2023 season under a two-year, $50 million deal. However, after the 2023 season that saw him go 10-9 with a 3.95 ERA, he opted out of his contract to become a free agent, where he remains.

Known for his activity on Twitter, Stroman remains one of the premier social media influences within MLB. Known for his hot takes and occasional beefs, the 32-year-old ensures that there is never a dull moment for his followers.

A showman by nature, it should come as a small surprise to those who know Marcus Stroman that he got his first taste of fame at a very young age.
