Jose Ramirez could be one of the most underrated players in baseball. Despite being one of the league's most productive players, he rarely finds himself in the same conversation as the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, or Bryce Harper.

Nonetheless, the third baseman is at it again this year as Ramirez has been helping guide the Cleveland Guardians to a potentail postseason berth. Through 119 games, J-Ram has racked up an impressive 32 home runs, 100 RBIs, and a .281 batting average.

This incredible season is the first time a player has posted these numbers since Ken Williams in 1922. Guardians broadcaster Al Pawlowski pointed this out on social media, sharing a post from former team baseball information intern Luke Potosky.

"Jose produces in so many categories at such a high level" - Al Pawlowski posted on social media about the All-Star slugger.

The six-time Emmy-winning host of Guardians Live is not wrong about Ramirez's different contributions across the field. The hard-hitting infielder has been a force for Cleveland throughout his career, earning All-Star selections in each of his last four seasons.

While Williams never had the level of consistency throughout his career like Jose Ramirez has, the former St. Louis Browns outfielder was elite during his prime. His five-tool abilities helped him post 39 home runs, 155 RBIs, and 37 stolen bases in 1922, along with an impressive .332 batting average.

Jose Ramirez will need to overcome all odds if he hopes to secure his first MVP this season

As Potosky pointed out, Ken Williams did not receive a single MVP vote in 1922 despite setting career-high numbers across the board. It remains to be seen if Jose Ramirez will also go without a vote, however, he faces stiff competition from the likes of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the New York Yankees.

Unless Ramirez were to go on an unfathomable tear at the plate in the final weeks of the season, it appears that it is Aaron Judge's award to lose at this point. Currently on FanDuel, Judge is the AL MVP favorite with -1450 odds, whereas Ramirez is a distance longshot at +17000.

If Jose Ramirez is yet again unable to win an MVP award after what could be the best season of his career, it appears that it might never come. However, if there is anyone who can come out swinging and surprise everyone it's Ramirez, just ask Tim Anderson.
