New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge after his team's second consecutive loss against the Tampa Bay Rays. The New York Yankees struggled with the timing of their hits on Sunday, and it cost them another series.

Despite the loss, Judge did not disappoint. The Yankees star hit a three-run homer from Jason Adam in the seventh inning. However, the offense fell short in the earlier innings during the first and second frames, the Yankees loaded the bases with only one out.

In the first, Gleyber Torres' flyout to left wasn't deep enough to score Juan Soto from third, and Alex Verdugo's lineout finished the rally. The second inning mirrored the first, with Soto grounding into a double play with a full count, failing to drive in a run.

Judge had the following to say after the team's inability to cash in with runners in scoring position on Sunday:

"I think just kind of looking at it, just trying to do too much. We haven't been really rolling as an offense the past couple of games, except the first game back from the break. But just trying to do too much in a situation like that."

The Yankees still hold second place in the American League East but have lost 23 of their last 37. Many believed that the All-Star break would change their luck since they won their last series, a first after losing eight consecutive series.

"I've definitely been there plenty of times where you're trying to get something going, trying to spark the team and stuff like that happens. We just gotta go back to just doing our job," Judge added.

Marcus Stroman joins Aaron Judge in speaking his mind

The New York Yankees' post-All-Star break momentum appears to have stalled. After a convincing win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, the Bronx Bombers have dropped consecutive games, with a 9-1 loss on Saturday and a 6-4 loss on Sunday.

Aaron Judge showed his dominance with his league-leading 35th home run, but the baserunners were left stranded and many opportunities were missed.

The Yankees went a disappointing 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. Even the right-hander Marcus Stroman expressed his concern despite the brilliance of Judge and Soto at the top.

"It's hard to be incredible for 162," Stroman said. "I think we have a lot of confidence ... how good (Soto has) been -- all year, him and Judge -- I think we're kind of losing sight of how incredible those two guys have been.

Stroman, however, believes that the team cannot also put all of the pressure on Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, but again everyone is concerned about this ongoing skid. The pitcher hopes for things to change in their favor soon.
