Marcus Stroman has expressed his anger at Chris Russo after the MLB analyst's comments on Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout's matchup in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) final.

Team USA and Team Japan played a tense final that went right down to the wire. Representing the two nations were Los Angeles Angels teammates Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. In the end, it was Japan who clinched the win 3-2 as Ohtani struck out Trout.

After the game, Russo surprisingly said the matchup was getting more hype than necessary and didn't live up to the billing. Other panelists were taken by surprise at these comments, with some even laughing them off. However, Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman was angered by the comments and called the MLB analyst a "lame clown".

"Trout and Ohtani are two of the best players to ever play the game. We continue to give lame clowns a voice in the media. What a poo-poo take from an old head. Comical that MLB continues to give this clown a platform when all he does is degrade players and yell nonsense," Stroman wrote on Twitter.

Stroman had an interesting outing at the World Baseball Classic himself. Representing Team Puerto Rico in Pool B, Stroman's team had a 3-1 record in the group, including a win over favorites Dominican Republic. However, their run was cut short in the quarterfinals, where they lost 5-4 to Team Mexico at the LoanDepot Park in Miami.

Marcus Stroman will be keen to deliver for the Chicago Cubs in the upcoming MLB season

Marcus Stroman will be hoping to do well for his team in the 2023 MLB regular season. Last season, Stroman had a 6-7 W-L record in 25 games played with a 3.50 ERA. Standing at 5'7'', he is one of only six pitchers under the 5'10" mark to make a start at the MLB level in the 21st century.
