Matt Harvey is back and looking much better than before!

Seen pitching in the World Baseball Championship for the Italian outfit the past few weeks, the former Mets man reminded everybody exactly why he was touted to make it big early on in his career.

Involvement in the distribution of a prohibited drug of abuse, Harvey found himself in troubled waters in 2022 which saw him serve a 60-game suspension. With his reputation tarnished, not many expected Harvey to make it into the big leagues, let alone ever play baseball again professionally.

SNY analyst Danny Abriano, however, begs to differ from the general opinion. He believes Harvey's impressive showing at the WBC and stupendous work ethic have earned him another shot at the major leagues, and if not the MLB, definitely a minor league deal.

Abriano also inclined toward the New York Mets giving Harvey the deal. He made his debut with in 2012, and was touted to make it big in the early 2010s.

"An arguement can be made that he deserves another chance in the majors. It should be the Mets who give him that deal," Danny was quoted saying.

At the fragile age of 33, everybody can only hope that Harvey's dream continues with the Mets, or just about anybody in the league.

Perhaps he may never make it back to the majors and choose a path elsewhere, but the streets will never forget Matt Harvey and his ridiculous fastball, which clocked in around 97mph on a consistent basis.

Matt Harvey was an All-Star in 2013

Free agent Matt Harvey was selected by the Mets in the 2010 MLB draft as the seventh overall pick. He made his major league debut on July 26, 2012 with the Mets and has gone on to play for the Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, and Baltimore Orioles in the MLB.

Harvey had a breakout season in 2013, which culminated in him being selected to play in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. He even started that game at Citi-Field.
