New York Mets broadcast team came under fire as pitches seemed to vanish in thin air as it approached the batter's box. This was greatly felt by fans sitting at home in Mets' 10-9 victory over the Guardians on Saturday.
The broadcast at Citi Field was impacted when pitches were delivered as the balls were lost in the green screen ad placed behind the home plate. That seemed to create all the confusion as the camera angle wasn't proper to avoid the ad. The ball left the pitcher's hand and was only again seen as it reached the catcher's glove.
Fans took to Reddit to voice their claims against the Mets broadcast crew. They stated that this is one error they have been facing for quite some time now and put pressure to get it fixed as soon as possible.

"Nah those pitches are actually invisible. It explains why Marte hasn't made contact in weeks", referring to Starling Marte's lack of form in recent weeks.

"I s this that "ghost pitch" I heard about?"

"I guess Alonso must be a wizard."
"Cool, I see they've been taking some notes from the NHL"
"MLB not thinking about the fans!?! gasp"

"It's not SNY's fault, MLB.tv superimpsed those ads on their stream of the game. I watched the game on SNY and that didn't happen"
"My friend who has MLB.tv noticed this too but I don't see it on cable. This isn't on SNY OP this is on mlb.tv. Also with the way Marte is hitting he is probably seeing the same thing you're seeing"

Mets broadcast glitch adds to humiliating videoboard error
The Citi Field seemed to be cursed with errors this season. The broadcast glitch is the second instance in a short span where the Metsies were embarrassed. In the May 18th's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, the giant videoboard at the Citi Field stopped working. There was a mometary stoppage in play.
Once the board resumed, it showed a huge Rays logo in an already humiliating game for New York as they were down 6-1.
