Jazz Chisholm Jr. may have only been a member of the New York Yankees for a few months. However, the star infielder has not taken long to endear himself to the city. After being acquired from the Miami Marlins by the Yankees, the Bahamian has not only played an important role for the club at third base, but has made his presence in the city known.
In a social media post shared by WNBA champion Breanna Stewart, Jazz Chisholm Jr. could be seen alongside the basketball superstar with the title. Stewart, who helped guide the New York Liberty to their first title in franchise history, brought the championship trophy for a slick photo opportunity with the New York Yankees star, as well as rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.
Jazz will be hoping to recreate this moment with a World Series title when all is said and done.
For Breanna Stewart, the two-time MVP and three-time WNBA champion, will continue celebrating bringing a title to the Big Apple. The New York Liberty defeated the Minnesota Lynx 3-2 in the finals thanks to the contributions of stars Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jonquel Jones.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees will begin their World Series battle against the Dodgers on Friday
For most of the regular season, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers were considered the most likely teams to reach the World Series. Well, that dream matchup between arguably the two most popular teams in the world is slated to begin on Friday, October 26.
Like many of his teammates, this will be the first taste of the World Series for Jazz Chisholm Jr. The 26-year-old All-Star will be looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Bahamian Ed Armbrister, who won two World Series titles with the Cincinnati Reds.
In order to follow Breanna Stewart's lead and bring a title to New York City, Jazz and the Yankees will need to try and slow down the potent Los Angeles Dodgers lineup that features the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Teoscar Hernandez.
