American rapper Megan Thee Stallion threw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Houston Astros' season opener against the Chicago White Sox. Her performance at Minute Maid Park attracted a lot of interest on social media.
David Hensley, the first baseman for the Astros, appeared to briefly lower his glove and wrist to Megan's waist while hugging her after her maiden pitch.
On his Know Mercy podcast, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith shared his opinions about David Hensley's embrace with Megan Thee Stallion. He hit out at the Astros player for what he felt was inappropriate contact.

“That white outfit she was wearing was pretty nice,” said Smith. “She looked pretty nice in that. The one thing I walked away from, and I forgot the guy’s name, but he had his hand on her backside. Yes, he did. He did it quick, but he ain’t supposed to be touching her like that."
Smith continued:
"If I was her man I’d have a problem with that. I’ll tell you that right now; I’m just saying. I understand, but that was naughty. He shouldn’t have done that. Keep your hands above the waist, around the middle of the back or the upper back. I think that’s safe. The lower you go, the lower you seem.”
This was Houston's first game since winning the 2022 World Series. They went on to lose 3-2 at Minute Maid Park against the Chicago White Sox.
