The New York Mets, despite losing out on the National League pennant, had a remarkable season. Riding the early lows, the team stabilized and made a deep run into the playoffs. All of the Mets community, including the players' partners, have put out strong messages for the team's efforts.
On Instagram, Pete Alonso's wife Haley posted a story celebrating the team's journey after being billed as underdogs.
"The team that nobody expected to make the playoffs made it all the way to the NL championship series," Haley wrote. "When no one believed in them, they believed in each other. I am so proud of them. [Pete] it's time for some well deserved rest after playing in all 175 games this season - I love you and am inspired by you. What a ride it was!" Hayley's caption wrote.
Francisco Lindor's wife, Katia, had an even bigger message for her husband and their team. In a four-paragraph caption, Katia highlighted the team's never-say-die attitude and Francisco being an inspiration with his MVP-caliber performances throughout the season.
"The best is yet to come and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us!" Katia's concluded her post's caption with.
John Mayer pens down his heartfelt message for Mets, Francisco Lindor
One of the New York Mets' biggest celebrity fans, John Mayer, wrote a fervent post on Instagram for the team, highlighting Francisco Lindor's contributions as having inspired him.
"So thank you Francisco Lindor, and thank you to the 2024 Mets for the unbelievable adventure, the inspiration, and the reminder to never give up. It was more than enough," Mayer's post read.
The New York Mets won seven postseason games after being 11.0 games behind the .500 PCT at one point in the season. With renewed hope and a desire to do better, Queens' team will show up next year looking to win it all.
