Before becoming a LA Dodgers fan favorite, Tommy Edman enjoyed a stint with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals drafted him in the sixth round of the 2016 MLB draft, and after five years, he was traded to the Dodgers.
On Friday, Edman returned to Busch Stadium for the first time since the trade. When he stepped up to the plate, he received warm applause from the Cardinals fanbase.

Edman's wife Kristen also celebrated his return by resharing the post on her social media, adding teary-eyed and heart emojis.

Edman's return didn't exactly turn out well for the Dodgers, who fell 5-0 to open the three-game series on the road. Edman hit once in four plate appearances. In the seventh inning after getting retired, he even hugged Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras.
Before the game, Edman said he would get a warm reception from the Cardinals crowd, and that's exactly what happened.
Tommy Edman played 596 games for the Cardinals. He had a batting average of .265 with 590 hits, 53 homers, 222 RBIs and 343 runs scored.
Kristen shares family pictures from son Eli's first pitch on Tommy Edman's bobblehead night
Three days ago, Dodger Stadium celebrated Tommy Edman's bobblehead night. To make the moment even more special, his son threw the ceremonial first pitch.
Edman's wife Kristen shared glimpses from the night. All three of them were decked out in Dodgers gear.
"Eli made his Dodger debut by throwing out the first pitch to dada on his bobblehead night 🥹" Kristen wrote in the caption.
Tommy Edman and Kristen began dating in January 2017 and got engaged in December 2018. They tied the knot on November 23, 2019, after postponing their initial wedding date due to Tommy's participation in the 2019 National League Division Series with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Kristen is from San Diego and has been a supporter of Tommy's career, often attending games and celebrating his achievements. In October 2023, they welcomed their first child, Eli Jack Edman.
