New York Yankees slugger Jazz Chisholm Jr. made his much-anticipated return to the diamond last week after missing more than a month of action due to an oblique strain.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. was frustrated on his attempt to steal third base in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Royals infielder Maikal Garcia seemingly made a rough tag, that angered the Yankees star.

Chisholm vented his frustration, saying (per Jomboy):

“Imma tell you one more time… if he tags me like that one more time, Imma smack the fuck outta him”

The Yankees infielder left the game after the dicey tag with the Yankees leading 5-1. He reportedly left the game with neck tightness after the incident and was replaced by utility player Oswald Peraza.

"Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm exited game with neck tightness at KC, appeared to be in some discomfort after stealing third in the 6th inning,” USA Today's Pete Caldera reported on X.

The American League East leaders will hope that that injury isn't anything serious as the All-Star slugger has been hot at the plate since returning from the injured list.

Yankees dominate Royals in ALDS rematch despite Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s early exit

Despite Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s premature exit, the Yankees dominated the Royals pitching in the first game of the series on Tuesday. Yankees captain Aaron Judge launched a massive 469-foot two-run home run in the first inning to take his tally to 24 for the season.

Austin Wells smashed a three-run home run in the fifth to give the Yankees a 5-1 lead. He added another two runs with an RBI double to finish with five RBI on the night. Later in the game, Cody Bellinger had an RBI single to being up his 1000th career hit.

The Yankees offense was on fire, giving the perfect support to ace Max Fried, who pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four Royals hitters. After a dominant 10-2 win in the series opener, the Bronx Bombers will be looking to clinch the series in last year's ALDS rematch by winning the second game on Wednesday.
