On November 9, the WBSC Premier12 2024 tournament kicked off. The third annual tournament of its kind, the championship is giving fans the chance to view the top 12-ranked baseball teams globally.
Over two weeks, teams at the WBSC Premier12 2024 will see some top talent compete against each other. Although the tournament will be largely devoid of MLB talent, several players from the Minor Leagues and foreign professional leagues will have the chance to shine.

What to know about the WBSC Premier12 2024 tournament
Format
The tournament starts with 12 teams divided into two equal groups of six. The teams in each pool then play a Round Robin against the other five teams. From each grouping, the top two teams advance to the "Super Round."
Following the first round of seeding, the four top WBSC Premier12 2024 teams will travel to Japan. The remaining four teams will then play another Round Robin to determine who emerges in first, second and third places.
As Japan are the defending champions of the tournament, they will have home field advantage in the finals. However, the first two rounds of the tournament will be played in Mexico and Taiwan.

Rosters
Below are the rosters for the WBSC Premier12 2024. Although fans will not be able to see much everyday MLB talent, rosters are packed with amateur talent.
In some cases, such as with teams Japan and Venezuela, the players compete at some of the highest echelons of domestic baseball in the country.
Team Dominican Republic will not carry MLB stars, but an array of young local talent.
Team Panama is looking at making a breakthrough in the tournament.
Many of Mexico's players play in the LMB.
The Venezuelans will seek to make an impact after a horrible loss at the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
