"We just couldn't capitalize" - Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts reflects on team's latest 6-4 loss against Mets

The Los Angeles Dodgers recorded another defeat of the 2024 season on Saturday against the New York Mets. The Dodgers lost 6-4 to the Mets.

The franchise is struggling to hit the ball, having lost seven of the last nine games. On the other hand, the Mets, who had a tough start by losing five consecutive games have successfully bounced back and are now 12-8.

In a recent SportsNet LA interview, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts talked about the team’s defeat.

“So kind of my point is you just gotta keep going and no one is going to feel sorry for you. You got to play the game the right way and expect things to turn.”
“You just got to kind of take it one pitch at a time and still try to have good bats,” Dave Roberts said. “Some of the guys in our lineup, you know today Freddie was really good today and we just got to kind of piece it together collectively to then breakout."
“But yeah It was, kind of you know, no team really show that they wanted the game and they gave us opportunities and we just couldn’t capitalize,” Roberts added.

The Dodgers got hits twice out of 12 opportunities with runners in scoring positions, leaving 13 players stranded without scoring. They have lost three consecutive series in a row.

Dave Roberts provides injury update on Bobby Miller and Emmet Sheehan

The Los Angeles Dodgers are missing two of their top young pitchers, Bobby Miller and Emmet Sheehan, both of whom have been placed on the injured list.

According to Bill Plunkett of the O.C. Register, Dave Roberts recently gave an update about both players’ return. The Dodgers’ skipper expects Miller’s return to the mound soon, but Sheehan’s major league return could still take some time.

25-year-old Bobby Miller was placed on 15-day IL due to shoulder inflammation. Emmet Sheehan, who is 24, is on 60-day IL with forearm inflammation.
