New York Mets star Francisco Lindor and his wife Katia have shared intimate moments with fans on social media. From trips abroad to their kids' birthday celebrations, the couple has been a constant presence in the MLB social media sphere.

This Thanksgiving, Katia Lindor shared a celebratory but meaningful story through Instagram. With a picture of her children in the background, Katia reminded everyone that while the holiday is about giving gratitude, the grim history behind it should not be forgotten.

"Thanksgiving is a time to gather, reflect, and give thanks for the blessings in our loves, but it's also important to recognize the history behind this day. While we celebrate the connection and gratitude, we must honor the truth of the Native American experience," Katia wrote.

Katia highlighted the indigenous people's resilience amid colonization and loss of lands and cultures. She also reminded everyone to be mindful of each other's origins and roots. Both Francisco and his wife Katia Lindor were born in Puerto Rico.

"Let this day inspire gratitude not only for what we have but also for the opportunity to learn, grow, and foster understanding and respect for all communities."

American Thanksgiving commemorates the 1621 harvest feast shared by the English colonists and the Native Americans. However, the colonization of America took a massive toll on the indigenous people. Per the Holocaust Museum Houston, the Native American population dwindled from over 10 million when the European settlers arrived to just under 300,000 by 1900.

Francisco Lindor and wife Katia celebrate daughters' birthdays

Francisco Lindor and wife Katia organized a double birthday bash for their children Kalina and Amapola. The party, which occurred earlier this month, celebrated Kalina's 4th birthday and Amapola's 1st.

It was a star-studded event attended by Lindor's colleagues, baseball player-turned-recording artist Jose Iglesias, and New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza. Kalina even spent time singing and dancing to Iglesias's hit single OMG.

It was quite a unique double-celebration as the elder Kalina was actually born in December 2021 while the younger Amapola was born in June 2023.
