Willi Castro has officially been named an All-Star. He replaces Jose Altuve at the Midsummer Classic who will rest his sore left hand. Castro will serve as the backup, as Marcus Semien is set to be the starter, and will be the person off the bench to replace him.

The MLB posted this on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"Willi Castro is All-Star Game bound! He has been named a replacement on the American League team for Jose Altuve. As a result, Marcus Semien will be the AL's starting second baseman now."

Castro was initially considered snubbed as an All-Star, but now he's finally earned a spot on the roster for the American League. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the selection of the Twins' utility player.

"LETS GOOO ASTROS KARMA IS HERE," one celebrated.
"Yeah good for him. I liked him in Detroit, glad to see him having success, even if it with the Twins," another said.
"Nice! Twins deserved some more representation!" another applauded.

Castro will presumably make his way into the game in the middle innings when substitutions begin rolling in.
