When former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco gushed over ex-wife Jessica's unmatched beauty 

In a book excerpt from Juicy: Confessions of a Former Baseball Wife, Jose Canseco's ex-wife Jessica penned down when the former Oakland Athletics star gushed over her unmatched beauty. The book was released on Sept. 6, 2005.

As narrated in the book, Jessica was just 19 and was a college student in 1993. To earn some bucks, she was working as a Hooters trainee when she met Canseco. One day, the pair went on a date when the former outfielder and designated hitter took Jessica to the Calvin Klein store.

H complimented his would-be wife's unrivaled perfection as she snuck in and out of the dressing room, displaying numerous ensembles in front of Canseco.

"You know something?" Jose said. "You have an amazing body."

"You really think so?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah," he said. "Most women, you're going to see some flaws. But not you, Jessica. You are absolutely flawless."

Being a young, naive girl, Jessica was easily smitten by Jose Canseco's treatment. On August 27, 1996, the couple, who had been dating for some time, got married. Their daughter, Josie, was born three months after they had tied the knot.

Trouble soon arose in paradise, though, when Canseco was detained in November 1997 for assaulting Jessica. In 2000, their marriage ended in divorce.

Last month, former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco's supermodel daughter, Josie said that her father went bankrupt and left the family in debts. Growing up, she struggled to make her name in the modeling industry.

In a slew of now-deleted Instagram posts, Josie wrote:

"Everyone claiming I came from all this rich money because I'm a 'canseco' do ur research. My 'family money' was blown by the time I was 6/7 w bankruptcy n I had to work my a** off to not only sustain my 'family name' but also pay my bills cause no one paid that s*** except me. My family is broke, and I dont get the advance of a family that was rich."
