When is Roki Sasaki expected to come over to MLB? The Samurai Japan phenom has been one of the best players for Japan and in the Nippon Baseball League for a while now.

As with other highly touted NBL players, many baseball fans are wondering when he will make the leap to the MLB. Unfortunately, it could be a while.

When is Roki Sasaki coming to the MLB?

Per international bonus pool restrictions, Sasaki won't come until he's 25 and he is currently only 21 years old.

David Adler of MLB.com said:

"If Sasaki waits for the international bonus pool restrictions for MLB teams under the Japanese posting system to lift, when he's 25 years old, he wouldn't arrive in the Major Leagues until the 2027 season."

He continued, adding that Sasaki could always come over earlier if he wanted to:

"Of course, he could always make the jump earlier -- just like Ohtani did when he signed with the Angels at age 23. Ohtani and Sasaki have talked about what playing for a Major League team, in a Major League environment, is like. Sasaki will come when the time is right."

Sasaki is younger than most players are when they make the overseas trip to the MLB. Even Ohtani, who was also younger than many others, was 23 when he did so.

Ultimately, it is up to the young Japanese pitcher and his time in the MLB could theoretically start at any time- whenever he wants.
