Sergio Romo, a former professional baseball pitcher from the United States, is married to Melinda Romo. Melinda is Sergio's second wife. Sergio Romo is a father to five kids.

He shares three children, Rilen, Rex and Rhys Rilen, with Chelsea Codlin, his ex-wife. Sergio — with his current spouse, Melinda Romo — had his fourth child, Mateo, in 2019 in addition to the ones he had with Chelsea.

At Oracle Park on Monday, Sergio Romo played in his final game as a professional, capping off an incredible big-league career for the San Francisco Giants.

Romo began his professional career with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in a single-short-season in the Northwest League.

After spending his first nine seasons with the Giants, Romo went on to play 15 seasons for eight different teams, including the Athletics. On Monday, the reliever posted a message to The Players' Tribune saying goodbye to San Francisco.

Romo was a Giants All-Star in 2013 and went 42-36 with a 3.21 earned run average and 137 saves in 821 appearances over 722 1/3 innings. Last year, he pitched a consolidated 23 games for Seattle and Toronto.

Romo also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2017), Tampa Bay (2017-18), Miami (2019), Minnesota (2019-20), Oakland (2021), Seattle (2022), and Toronto (2022) after leaving the Giants as a free agent.

As he made his way to the dugout, the 40-year-old Romo took in everything as he tipped his cap and gave a magnificent farewell hug to Giants manager Gabe Kapler and others.
