Although she was barely five when her father's MLB career ended, Josie Canseco is no stranger to the limelight. Recently, the model and influencer gained attention by rocking a cowgirl-style getup.
In a selfie uploaded to her personal Instagram account, Canseco showed off a "cowgirl" outfit. In the mirror picture, Canseco can be seen wearing a black cowboy hat and a lace-up top. In addition to tagging some contacts on the story, the image was accompanied by the words "We're back."
Born in 1996, Canseco is well known for being the daughter of Jose Canseco, a former MLB star who played his final game in 2001. The winner of the 1988 MVP Award with the Oakland Athletics, Canseco has remained in the public conscience for his hot takes and high-profile image.
Canseco was born in Florida to Jessica Canseco, Jose's ex-wife. At the time, her father was in the late stages of his career, and playing for the Boston Red Sox. Though she was certainly born with name recognition, Josie has worked hard to carve out a career for herself.
An active voice on social media, Josie got her acting start in the web series SummerBreak 2 in 2012. Since then, the 27-year-old has thrown herself into other projects and pursuits, most notably modelling.

After posing for a candid shot at the Coachella Music Festival in 2014, Canseco's popularity exploded. Ever since, Josie Canseco has modelled for Victoria's Secret, Sherri Hill, and Playboy. She also auditioned for the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Josie Canseco comes from a family of baseball royalty
For Josie Canseco's father, Jose, controversy was never far. In addition to dealing with a plethora of legal issues, the slugger was also mired in a performance-enhancing drug controversy towards the end of his career. However, that did not stop the A's from inducting the former star into their Hall of Fame in August, speaking about the honor, Canseco told ESPN:
"I'd like to thank the fans. I'm an emotional wreck right now, I can't believe I've been given this chance, the opportunity to be honored. ... I wish I could give the fans right now a forearm bash to everybody. Incredible memories here with the Oakland A's."
Although Josie may have a bigger brand than her father these days, Jose's contributions to baseball remain beyond reproach.
