Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena is a star player on the field, but his personal life hasn't been that smooth.
Arozarena was arrested in 2020 following a domestic dispute with his estranged partner which involved his daughter.
His agent Abel Guerra said the only thing Arozarena wanted at the time was to look after his child's needs, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

“The only thing I know is he was hyper-sensitive about making sure that the child’s needs were being taken care of. He was always sending money down there, and he was very involved in her life. I don’t want to speculate about (anything else).”
The Rays released a statement about the situation:
“We are aware of reports that Randy Arozarena was detained in Mexico. We are gathering more information on this situation, and we have no further comment at this time.”
He was released two days later after his estranged partner did not press charges.
Arozarena made his professional debut in 2015 with the Vegueros de Pinar del Río in the Cuban National Series. He became a vital member of the club, and in 2015 helped them win the championship. Arozarena left Cuba in 2016 and relocate to Mexico, where he carried on playing baseball in the Mexican League.

He spent two years competing in the Mexican League, honing his abilities and attracting the interest of American scouts.
