2014 South American under-15 Championship for women had tipped off at Venezuelan city of Barquisimeto. The championship will be held from 19 to 23 November 2014.
Eight South American countries are participating in the championship. Top three teams from this championship will qualify for the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women. Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador are in Group A while Group B consists of Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina and Peru. Top two team from each group will advance to the semifinal of the championship.
On the opening day of the championship, Brazil defeated Ecuador 77 – 60, Paraguay beat Argentina 50 – 46, Colombia beat Chile 59 – 50 and Venezuela thrashed Peru 72 – 25.
