Micah Parrish is currently one of the most popular young basketball players in the world. His team, San Diego State, has advanced to the final game of the NCAA Tournament, and he'll have a chance to become the national champion very soon.

Parrish played 21 minutes in the Final Four matchup against the Florida Atlantic Owls, scoring six points and grabbing five rebounds. His last name caught a lot of attention and many basketball fans began wondering if he was related to Robert Parish.

While the two are very similar, they are not related. In fact, their last name isn't the same either, although some fans frequently misspell Micah's last name.


Micah Parrish is not related to Robert Parish, a Boston Celtics legend

Micah Parrish and Robert Parish share many similarities. Besides their similar last names, both are popular because of basketball. Parish's NBA career was incredible, but Micah is still trying to make a name for himself and become a star.

There is no record of the two basketball players having any kind of a relationship.

Parrish committed to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in 2020 and spent two years with the team. In his second season with Oakland, the 6-foot-6 guard averaged 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He then transferred to San Diego State.

Parrish's numbers have gone down with the Aztecs and he's only started one out of 30 games. However, he's still a solid contributor who has helped his team have a deep run in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Micah Parrish and San Diego State will have a chance to become national champions on Monday. They will face off against the UConn Huskies in what should be a very exciting and competitive game.

Robert Parish, on the other hand, played four years at Centenary. Standing at 7-foot-1, the big man was very dominant, averaging 21.6 points and 16.9 rebounds per game.

Thanks to his amazing performances in college, the center was selected with the eighth pick in the 1976 NBA draft. His career began with the Golden State Warriors, but he spent the majority of it playing for the Boston Celtics.

In Boston, the big man won three championship rings. He also won it all in the final year of his professional career as he joined Michael Jordan and the Chigago Bulls in the 1996-97 season.

Besides his rings, Parish was named an All-Star nine times and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.
