One team banned from BGIS 2024 The Grind for violating rules

On April 18, Krafton announced that CannonBoltz had been banned from the BGIS 2024 due to violations of the tournament's code of conduct. The team was seeded into Group 7 for the Grind competition, competing in Week 1 on April 7. They collected 28 points in three matches and ranked third in the group. However, it was revealed that their players used unauthorized software to gain an advantage in their matches.

With the disqualification of CannonBoltz, the 15 teams of Group 7 have been given two points each. Fan favorite Team Soul is also in the same group and is the top performer there. All 255 teams of the Grind are all set to play their remaining three matches of the event during the third and fourth weeks.


Krafton bans CannonBoltz from BGIS 2024

The organizer mentioned that CannonBoltz has officially been banned from the entire BGIS 2024 as their players were using unauthorized software that violated the rules of conduct. Krafton stated:

"Team CannonBoltz has been officially banned from participating in BGIS 2024 due to violations of the tournament's Code of Conduct/Ruleset. An investigation confirmed that Team CannonBoltz engaged in activities that directly violated these rules. The specific infractions involved using unauthorized software modifications and collaborating with other players wipped with cheating devices."

The publisher further added:

"Due to the disqualification of Team CannonBoltz, their accumulated total of 28 points will now be redistributed equally among the 15 remaining teams in Group 7. Each team will receive an additional 2 points. This decision is made to maintain the competitive balance within the group and ensure no team is unduly disadvantaged by the exclusion of a competitor."

After the end of Week 2, Team Soul leads the overall scoreboard with 70 points. Cratic and Hyderabad Hydras rank second and third with 56 and 55 points, respectively. Popular club GodLike Esports holds the eighth rank with 48 points, while Revenant, Orangutan, and Entity Gaming have collected 41, 37, and 35 points respectively.

All these 255 teams will aim to solidify their rankings in the overall leaderboard In their rest three games. Week 3 of The Grind is scheduled to be played from April 18 to 21, while Week 4 is set for April 25 to 28. After the completion of six matches of each team, the top 64 out of 255 teams will be selected to participate in the BGIS 2024, starting on May 2.
