The Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) is pleased to inform you that the Medical, General Weigh-in and Draw of bouts for Boxing Event of CWG 2010 was completed successfully at the Training Centre of Commonwealth Games Village by 1300 hrs on 04 Oct 2010. President AIBA Dr Ching Kuo Wu who is presently in India since 02 Oct 2010 (night) addressed the Managers and Coaches of the participating Commonwealth Countries immediately after the Draw and wished all the participants the very best of luck for this major event.
President AIBA also mentioned to the Managers and Coaches as to how wonderful the CWG 2010 is being organized and that he was mighty impressed by the spectacular Opening Ceremony yesterday which he thoroughly enjoyed. He would be here for a few days and he wished all the boxers good luck and complimented the organizers for having put up excellent arrangements for the conduct of CWG 2010.
The first bout of 05 Oct 2010 at 1300 hrs at the Talkatora Stadium will be between Amandeep Singh(India) and Peter Warui (Kenya) in the 49 kgs wt cat. In the 64 kgs Manoj Kumar (India) will play against Daniel Lassayo of Sierra Leone on 05 Oct in the afternoon session. In the evening session there will be 11 bouts in the 75 kgs wt cat, but Vijender has got a bye and hence he does not have a bout on 05 Oct 2010. Vijender Singh’s bout will be on 08 Oct against Dick Ombaka of Kenya in the evening session.

91 kgs Manpreet Singh vs Haruna Mhando of Tanzania on 09 Oct
+91 kgs Paramjeet Samota vs Andre Reid of Jamaica on 08 Oct.
