Jai Bhagwan: A Brief Biography

Jai Bhagwan is an Indian boxer who is also a two-time Asian Championships medallist and a bronze winner at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He competed in the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Baku and made it to the quater finals securing a spot at the 2012 Olympics in the process. After missing the chance to participate in the 2004 and 2008 games, Jai finally got the opportunity to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In an awe-inspiring performance, he defeated Andrique Allisop of Seychelles 18—8 in the opening round to storm into the pre—quarterfinals of the lightweight (60kg) category in the Olympics on 29 July 2012. On 2nd August 2012, Jai Bhagwan lost to Kazakh fighter Gani Zhailauov at the London Olympics in the pre-quarterfinals of the men\'s 60 kg category.
