Amidst the massive, worldwide outbreak of tributes and condolences expressed in the name of the recently deceased boxing legend Muhammad Ali, Indian social media is currently getting ripped apart by trolls and reactions in reply to the statements made on this topic by Kerala’s sports minister EP Jayarajan.

In an interview with Manorama News, on being asked to share his thoughts on the saddening demise of the People’s Champion, the eminent politician let his words run too far ahead of his scrappy knowledge.

Besides hailing Ali as the pride of Kerala for his contribution in the world of sports, he went on to mention how the boxer had won a gold medal during the prime of his career and thereby, sensationally elevated Kerala’s position at the international stage by virtue of his sporting prowess.

This is, no doubt, one mistake the minister could have definitely done without.

Wonder what the owner of the Indian Super League football franchise from his state – Kerala Blasters’ Sachin Tendulkar would have felt if he learnt of the sports minister’s latest howler regarding the legendary personality who happens to be his own sporting idol as well!
