Former Harvard and WNBA star Allison Feaster was proud of her daughter and UConn forward, Sarah Strong, for being chosen for the Team USA women's 3x3 basketball team in the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

Feaster posted a photo on her Instagram stories, showing Strong wearing the Team USA jersey and her two-word reaction in Spanish that read:

"Mi Bicho 🥹 ❤️ 🙏🏽"

Feaster used the words "Mi Bicho" as a term of endearment for her daughter, which is similar to "my little one" or "my darling" in Spanish. But it also meant "my bug" or "my beast."

The 5-11 Feaster played in the WNBA from 1998 to 2008 for the Los Angeles Sparks, Charlotte Sting and Indiana Fever. She also had stints in Europe for teams in Portugal, France, Spain and Italy before retiring in August 2016.

Feaster set multiple Ivy League women's basketball records when she was at Harvard, including four-straight All-Ivy League selections and three-time Player of the Year nods.

She currently works for the Boston Celtics as its vice-president of team operations and organizational growth. This is the position she has held since January 2020.

The incoming sophomore, who set the school's freshman record for rebounds (356), will play again as the starting power forward for the Geno Auriemma-coached team but will take the role as one of the team's leaders next season after the departure of superstar Paige Bueckers.

Strong, who averaged 16.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, will anchor the Huskies frontcourt, which will be composed of forwards Serah Williams, Ice Brady and Ayanna Patterson and centers Jana El-Alfy and freshman Gandy Malou-Mamel.

Strong's Team USA call-up for the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup means that she'll miss the Huskies' summer program. Auriemma and his coaching staff started their summer preparations for the 2025-26 season during Memorial Day weekend and the players are supposed to stay in Storrs until June.

Sarah Strong is the second Huskies star to be called up for the Stars and Stripes following USC transfer Kayleigh Heckel. The incoming sophomore guard was invited to try out for the 2025 Team USA U19 Team ahead of the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup.
