Cori Close is an American college basketball coach who has been at the helm of the UCLA Bruins women’s basketball program since 2011. This will be Close's 14th season with the program. Close, who has built a solid 424-147 career record, was a celebrated collegiate athlete who captained UC Santa Barbara between 1992 and 1993. She was the first player in the program’s history to register more than 1,000 points and 500 assists in her basketball career.

Close's coaching career began at UCLA, where she served as the assistant coach for two years before joining her alma mater in 1995. She went on to spend nine years with the Gauchos, both as an assistant coach and an associate head coach. Before her return to Westwood, she spent seven years at Florida State University as an associate head coach from 2004 to 2011. The Seminoles advanced to the NCAA tournament in each of Close’s seasons with the program. In 2011, Close was named head women's basketball coach at UCLA and led the Bruins to their first WNIT Championship during the 2014-15 season.

Don passed away on August 2, 2021, in his Chatsworth home.
