Cooper Flagg is a college basketball player who played as a shooting guard or small forward for the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC in the 2024/25 season. He attended Nokomis Regional High School, where he became the first freshman to be named the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year. This came after Cooper Flagg averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 3.7 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game. As his freshman year concluded, he moved to Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. Flagg played in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) for the Florida Eagles ahead of his first year at Monteverde Academy.

Flagg was named to the 2024 McDonald's All-American Boys Game squad. Additionally, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball USA, and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Flagg concluded the season with 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game in his final high school season with 16.4 average points. He was named to the Preseason All-America First Team, Newcomer of the Year, and Preseason Second Team All-American in the 2024-25 season. He was a member of the 2022 Men’s U17 National Team, which won the gold medal at the 2022 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup.

Cooper Flagg signed a NIL deal with Gatorade on October 29, 2024, as per On3. Flagg was named the Gatorade Best Male Player of the Year in 2024. In a statement regarding his signing with Gatorade, he said:
