Jazzy Davidson, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025 (according to ESPN's final rankings), just finished her senior year at Clackamas High School in Oregon. She ended her high school career with a bang, winning the Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 29.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.6 assists per game.
The 6-foot-1 guard received plenty of interest from top college basketball programs across the country before she committed to USC in September of last year. The Trojans made the signing official in November, announcing Davidson's move on X (formerly Twitter).
Let's take a look at some of the other colleges that were interested in signing USC recruit Jazzy Davidson.
Top 3 schools that were interested in signing Jazzy Davidson
3. UConn Huskies

Jazzy Davidson came close to joining the UConn Huskies last year. The five-star recruit included Geno Auriemma's team on her shortlist when she narrowed her choices to six schools before making her decision.
The Huskies made an offer to Davidson, who ultimately decided to join forces with JuJu Watkins at USC. A lot has changed since that signing, though, with Watkins sidelined for the 2025-26 NCAA season due to a knee injury and UConn ending its title drought with a win over South Carolina in the national championship game.
2. Duke Blue Devils

The Duke Blue Devils made the final cut when Jazzy Davidson announced her top six list of schools she would choose from. Apart from USC, UConn and Duke, Davidson's list also included UCLA, TCU and Texas. Davidson's interest in joining the Blue Devils wasn't surprising.
Duke coach Kara Lawson has turned things around ever since she took over in 2020. She helped the Blue Devils reach the Sweet 16 of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the first time Duke has reached that March Madness round since 2018. They went one step further this year, reaching the Elite Eight for the first time since 2013.
1. UCLA Bruins
Before committing to join USC, Jazzy Davidson considered signing with the UCLA Bruins. She told On3 Sports reporter Talia Goodman last year that she had scheduled an official visit to UCLA for Oct. 11, a month before she signed with USC.
Davidson praised the Bruins' coaches and welcomed the opportunity to team up with Sienna Betts again at UCLA.
โI really like the coaches, just the relationships that Iโm building with them,โ Davidson told Goodman. โAnd then I got pretty close to Sienna over at our USA trip. So, that was cool, and I would love to play with her in college. I mean, that definitely is a factor.โ
On3 gave UCLA a 4.2% chance of landing the combo guard. Unfortunately for the Bruins, Davidson chose to join their rivals USC instead.
