Top five landing spots for Jeremy Roach

#1 Arkansas

Arkansas is preparing for its new era in college basketball under former Kentucky head coach John Calipari. They are in desperate need of players at all positions, and Roach is at the top of their list.

Calipari will create a certain draw for some players as a college basketball coaching legend. Roach could get the chance to be the team's true number one option if he joins the Razorbacks next season to lead them at the guard position.

#2 Kentucky

Jeremy Roach could also go to coach Calipari's former team, the Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats will be without their top five leading scorers next season, four of whom play the guard position.

Antonio Reeves, Rob Dillingham, Reed Sheppard and Tre Mitchell will all likely be moving on from the program next season due to their eligibility coming to an end or their plans to enter the NBA Draft.

Roach would be the top candidate to fill the scoring void left by these players for new Kentucky coach Mark Pope next season.

#3 St. John's

Jeremy Roach could also look to play under another legendary college basketball coach at St. John's, Rick Pitino. Pitino's first year at St. John's last season was a bit of a mixed bag. But Roach could enter the program and bring in his veteran leadership and experience.

The status of some potential returning St. John's players still remains up in the air, but landing Roach from the transfer portal could sway other players back to the program next season.

Roach would immediately become the leader on St. John's roster next season and be the go-to scoring option that would shine in Rick Pitino's offense.

#4 UConn

UConn could be a frontrunner to land Jeremy Roach if he wants a good shot at securing a national championship before he leaves college basketball. UConn is coming off back-to-back NCAA title wins but will lose some of its top players next season.

Tristen Newton, Donovan Clingan, Cam Spencer, Alex Karaban, Hassan Diarra and Stephon Castle could all be on the way out of the program next season. This opens the door for Roach to take over a team that has already built a championship atmosphere under coach Dan Hurley.

#5 Illinois

The Fighting Illini might be a long shot to land Roach from the transfer portal, but it could be a considerable option for his final season of college basketball.

Illinois will lose their top two scorers, Terrence Shannon Jr. and Marcus Domask, next season, but they have already landed Carey Boot, Kylan Boswell and Tre White from the transfer portal.

Roach and Arizona transfer Kylan Boswell could run the guard positions and have White and Both control the forward positions. Illinois Coleman Hawkins and Ty Rodgers are also top contributors that are eligible to return next season.

Jeremy Roach could be just the floor general that the Illini need to make their first championship appearance since 2005.
