As of 2024, Malik Reneau is the forward of the Indiana Hoosiers, a collegiate basketball team in the Big Ten Conference. Before his move to Indiana, Reneau played for the Montverde Academy, where he led his team to the 2021 and 2022 GEICO High School National Championships. He was one of the top 30 prospects in the 2022 class and the Big Ten's highest-ranked freshman forward.

Reneau attended Florida's Montverde Academy, where he was coached by Kevin Boyle. He averaged 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds as a senior and recorded a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game. At the GEICO High School Nationals, he recorded 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. In 2022, Reneau committed to the Indiana Hoosiers. During his rookie season (2022–2023), he supported Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson in 35 games, averaging 6.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 55.3 FG% in 14.9 minutes per game. Reneau was one of three Hoosiers to play in all 35 matches that season and started in three.
