LSU forward Aneesah Morrow stood out in her team’s 82-65 victory over NC State on Wednesday. The Tigers dominated the Wolfpack, with Morrow showcasing her versatility and leadership throughout the game.

The senior logged 39 minutes, filling the stat sheet with 20 points, 15 rebounds and three steals on 8-for-17 shooting. She also recorded her sixth straight double-double and was named the Pink Flamingo Championship MVP for her performances.

Morrow has recorded seven double-doubles this season. She is averaging 18.1 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 52.2%.

In their first major challenge of the season, the Tigers cruised to their first-ranked win after dominating the NC State Wolfpack 82-65 at the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey’s emphasis on rebounding, a hallmark of her teams, was evident as the Tigers dominated the boards, outrebounding the Wolfpack 44-24. LSU grabbed 25 rebounds to NC State’s six in the first half alone.

Aneesah Morrow's 15 rebounds were critical to the Tigers’ eight second-chance points, helping them control the game’s tempo.

"She (Aneesah Morrow) plays with a motor," Mulkey said. "She never stops hustling. She never stops rebounding. She never stops just going hard."
"It’s hard to focus this time of year and I thought the two games we played here told us a little bit more about ourselves," the coach added. "It helped us get better. We’re ready to be home and enjoy our day off for Thanksgiving tomorrow and then get ready for Sunday."

Flau'jae Johnson finished with 16 points despite facing foul trouble in the first half. LSU’s bench stepped up, with Kailyn Gilbert, the hero in the team's previous game against Washington, filling in seamlessly, tallying 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Sophomore Mikaylah Williams also bounced back in style after a tough game against Washington, leading all scorers with 24 points, including four 3-pointers. Johnson.

The victory over NC State, a Final Four team last season, indicates LSU is finding its rhythm. With Morrow’s stellar play and balanced contributions across the roster, the Tigers are cementing themselves as a formidable force this season.
