Arkansas' five-star recruit Meleek Thomas continues to refine his game before his freshman DI season. The 6-foot-4 point guard has been involved in rigorous training with Overtime Elite's City Reapers, the team he had previously played for.

Thomas continues to hoop nearly nine months after he had first worked out at the OTE native team's gym. The City Reapers posted a video on Friday showcasing the No. 11 ranked recruit underway a tough workout session with its players.

"Buckets back2back2back2back. … 😳 @meleek.thomas," the post read.

The guard joined the City Reapers last year for his senior year after leaving Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. He was coming off winning his second straight PIAA state championship, averaging 23.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

Meleek Thomas reacted to the OTE native team's video by reposting it to his IG story alongside a brief message.

"Real bucket getter," he added.

Thomas is coming off a stellar season with the City Reapers, averaging 26.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He also led the team to the OTE championship game, but the group fell to Elli Ellis' YNG Dreamerz.

Nevertheless, the guard earned multiple major recognitions, like being named to the McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic lineups.

Why did Meleek Thomas choose Arkansas over UConn and other top programs?

Meleek Thomas was recruited by then-defending champion UConn alongside Alabama, Kentucky, and his hometown Pittsburgh. However, the guard chose to play for John Calipari's second-year unit at Arkansas.

His decision springs from his family's connection with coach Cal and his decorated resume of developing NBA-level players.

"Everyone I spoke with was so positive on Coach Cal," he shared with ESPN. "He has touched so many lives with his guys becoming NBA players and so many others.
"He and the staff stayed in contact with both me and my family the whole time. I am big on family, and Coach Cal is a warm-hearted person who built a great relationship with both me and my family."

Meleek Thomas further shared that John Calipari's playbook also factored in his decision. The guard has a score-first mentality but can also distribute the rock to get his teammates going. However, given the Razorbacks' depth, he's comfortable playing a defense-first role in his freshman season.
