Iowa Hawkeyes star Hannah Stuelke is heading to Colorado Springs, taking part in the upcoming 2025 USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team trials from June 17. Her invitation is generating a great deal of excitement among Iowa fans and players alike. This includes incoming freshman Addie Deal.

Deal is ranked No. 9 overall and the No. 2 combo guard from the Class of 2025, according to 247Sports, choosing Iowa over Arizona, Baylor, LSU and Ohio State. She is a three-level scorer, and the Hawkeyes are banking on her scoring ability next season.
Hannah Stuelke will be fighting for one of 12 roster spots for the upcoming USA Basketball squad for the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup tournament in Santiago, Chile, which will be held from June 28-July 6, 2025.
However, Stuelke is expected to have some stiff competition, as there are other very talented players invited to the training camp.
Aside from her, those invited include Raegan Beers, Mikayla Blakes, Madison Booker, Mara Braun, Addyson Brown, Jaloni Cambridge, Audi Crooks, Margaret Doogan, Joyce Edwards, Stailee Heard, Hannah Hidalgo, Flau’jae Johnson, Gianna Kneepkens, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, Olivia Miles, Khamil Pierre, Reigan Richardson, Kennedy Smith, Grace VanSlooten and Payton Verhulst.
Duke's Kara Lawson will serve as the team's coach in Chile, with DeLisha Milton-Jones (Old Dominion University) and Jennie Baranczyk (University of Oklahoma) serving as assistant coaches, along with court coaches Jim Flanery (Creighton University) and Robyn Fralick (Michigan State University) during the trials.
Hannah Stuelke is part of the NIL deal to combat online negativity
Throughout her college career, Hannah Stuelke has been known as one of the most jovial players on the court, inspiring Hawkeyes fans to adopt the mantra "Happy Like Hannah." As she heads to Colorado Springs for the USA Basketball Team Trials, she is also making waves as part of an NIL campaign to fight negativity online.
After their January 2024 loss to Ohio State, Stuelke deleted her Instagram account due to the harmful comments. That experience led her and several other female athletes to partner up with UScellular for an NIL deal promoting positivity and celebrating women's athletics.
The NIL partnership aims to create positive female role models for young girls, with ambassadors like Stuelke promoting online positivity to reach younger audiences.
