Nearly two months after they met in the NCAA championship game, Chloe Kitts and KK Arnold were spotted having fun in their latest collaboration. The national champions teamed up for Overtime Select weekend to cheer for Team JuJu Watkins and Team Flau'jae Johnson.
Overtime WBB's Instagram handle posted a brief video of the two DI stars dancing with fellow athletes and high school names on the corner on the baseline. Kitts donned a black waist-length crop top with brown jeans while Arnold wore a blue OT t-shirt with parachute pants.
"IF YOU DON’T WATCH THE TAKEOVER TONIGHT WE AREN’T FRIENDS. Link in bio. 7 pm," the post read.
The Overtime Select is an annual event that occurs during the college basketball offseason. It brings some of the top women's players across the nation together, aged 15 to 18. This year's rendition features names like Saniyah Hall, Tati Griffin, Kate Harpring, Kaleena Smith, Jenica Lewis, Oliviyah Edwards, GG Banks and Jordyn Palmer.
The event presents young athletes with a chance to test their skills against other elite players. It also helps them set a foundation for building their overall brand.
Alongside KK Arnold and Chloe Kitts, other CBB stars also visited the arena in Atlanta. Some of the players will also get a chance to directly learn from Flau'jae Johnson and JuJu Watkins, who will be acting as coaches during the Next Up 5s segment.
Chloe Kitts and KK Arnold are coming off monumental seasons
Chloe Kitts and KK Arnold are coming off a great 2024-25 season, showcasing significant growth in their careers.
Statistically, Arnold did not have the best year. However, she played an instrumental role in UConn's championship run. The guard was relegated to the bench for the 2024-25 season as the Huskies added star freshman Sarah Strong. Azzi Fudd also returned to the starting lineup.
KK Arnold attempted over 100 fewer shots than her freshman season but generated better efficiency throughout the season. She averaged 5.5 points, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals on 47.4% clip. Her defensive energy was vital for the Huskies, especially during the NCAA tournament.
On the other hand, Chloe Kitts efficiently stepped into Kamilla Cardoso's role this season for South Carolina, who graduated to enter the WNBA last April. Cardoso had served as a key interior player for Dawn Staley. While Kitts took some time to acclimatize to the new role, she found her rhythm during the end of the season.
She averaged a career-high 10.2 ppg and 7.7 rpg on 52.0% makes this season. However, one of her most efficient stretches was during the SEC championship. She averaged 16.6 ppg, 7.6 rpg and 1.0 bpg on over 70.% shooting to earn the MVP honors.
