Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is one of college football's hottest prospects, having thrown for 2,020 yards, resulting in 16 touchdowns this season.
An anonymous Power Five coach described Shedeur's importance to the Colorado project in an ESPN interview during the week.
"If Colorado didn't have Shedeur, they wouldn't win a game, point blank, it's that simple," the coach said. "He's getting killed, though. I feel bad. He's such a tough kid."

The Buffaloes quarterback is available to play against the Stanford Cardinal.
Before the clash against Stanford, Colorado coach Deion Sanders revealed Shedeur Sanders' mindset towards being the most sacked QB in college football.
"Shedeur don't complain," Deion Sanders said. "It's easy for him to sit up here and say, 'I'm getting hit left, right, in between.' I know he's sore because he's in a hot tub, and he's doing things to make sure his body is straight. But he does not complain. He's not gonna throw his linemen under the bus. He's not gonna do any of that. That's just who he is."
Is Shedeur Sanders courting controversy?
Shedeur Sanders has caused pockets of controversy this season with his viral celebration, 'the Shedeur' after flexing on Nebraska players earlier in the season and Arizona State fans in last week's narrow win.
Deion Sanders sees no problem with Shedeur Sander's way of celebrating touchdowns. After coaching his son at Jackson State, Coach Prime has seen it all and is even encouraging companies to offer him endorsement deals.
“He is who he is,” Deion Sanders said. “The things that he does, he’s done before. You’re just seeing it. Like holding up the watch. If you Google us winning the state championships, he is sitting up there with a diamond watch on. He’s sitting up there with the chains on. He’s already done the stuff that you’re seeing. I’ve seen these things."
“That’s probably why I don’t flinch on the sideline because I’ve seen this thing. What was funny to me is that I saw a clip — I don’t know if Sam showed it to me — somebody showed it to me. They showed my reaction to the touchdowns or whatever, and they were all just — I’ve seen this stuff, and I expect that.”
It's not only about the antics, though. Deion Sanders explained that his charismatic son warrants the praise he gets and produces when it matters.
“I ain’t gonna jump and holler and scream,” Coach Prime said. “I know what’s coming. The expectation I have of him (Shedeur) as a quarterback is phenomenal. The expectation I have of him as my son is even more. I’m excited and elated."
Shedeur Sanders seems to be courting controversy exactly like his father did in his prime, and he's meriting the attention he gets with phenomenal displays on the gridiron every weekend.
