Deion Sanders has officially led the Colorado Buffaloes to a 9-3 regular season, a remarkable turnaround from 2022 when the team finished 1-11. They capped off the season with a dominant 52-0 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Friday.

In these savory moments of victory, Coach Prime has stayed humble. He posted the following message on X on Friday:

"LORD I THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! #CoachPrime"

The achievements for Colorado could continue to pile up. The Buffs could still make the Big 12 championship game, although they depend on other results for this to happen. They have three paths to the game, with the easiest but most unlikely one seeing BYU, Iowa State, and Arizona State all lose on Saturday. If two of those schools lose, Colorado can also make it.

The most roundabout path would see Arizona State and Iowa State win and BYU lose. To that, they would need to add Texas Tech beating West Virginia, Baylor beating Kansas State and Cincinnati beating TCU. In that case, Colorado and Iowa State would see each other in the Big 12 championship.

If they win that game, they could even make the college football playoff.

Deion Sanders: Shedeur Sanders will play in the bowl season

On Friday, Deion Sanders also confirmed that Shedeur Sanders and other Colorado stars will make an appearance during the bowl season:

"It’s a team thing," Sanders said Friday. "If me and T and a couple of other players aren’t out there, the Buffs aren’t going to look the same. We understand the pieces we are to the team, the leaders we are overall and the amount of players that would sit out if we weren’t out there doing it."
"Our kids are going to play in our bowl game because that’s what we signed up to do, we’re going to finish. We’re not going to tap out because that throws off the structure of next season."

Since the inception of the college football playoff in 2014, many athletes on their way to the NFL have decided to forgo participating in their bowl games unless they happen to be part of the CFP. The fact that Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and others are willing to participate in this postseason highlights the importance that this season's achievements have for Deion Sanders' team.
