DeShaun Foster is gearing up for his second stint as the head coach of the UCLA Bruins. He took over the program last year after Chip Kelly left to become the offensive coordinator for Ohio State. In his debut campaign, Foster led the Bruins to an underwhelming 5-7 record.
However, Foster has been utilizing the offseason to revamp his roster. In April, he managed to acquire ex-Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Now, the Bruins' coach has brought in another weapon to bolster the offense.
On Saturday, four-star offensive lineman from the West Coast, Micah Smith, announced his commitment to the UCLA Bruins. He becomes the second four-star recruit to decide to play under Foster.

After his commitment, the coach took to social media with a three-word reaction, celebrating the offensive lineman's commitment.
"Coast 2 Coast," Foster wrote in a tweet on X.
Micah Smith opened up about the reason behind his commitment to the UCLA Bruins. According to him, they showed faith in his talent and confidence in their ability to turn him into a star.
"They showed the future they had planned out for me," Smith said. "A lot of people would say, 'Hey, you're good at this or you're good at that. But UCLA was like, 'If you come here, he's what you can work on and we'll get you better at that so that we'll get you out of here in three years. I believe that and I can get a good degree, so that's why I choose them."
Micah Smith opens up about his relationship with DeShaun Foster's OL coach
On Saturday, the four-star OL from Vero Beach talked about his relationship with the Bruins' offensive line coach, Andy Kwon. According to Micah Smith, Kwon played a major role in his commitment to the program.
"My relationship (with Kwon) was a huge factor," Smith said. "That's the person that's going to develop you. The culture of the program, that connection with the O-line coach and the opportunity to play when I get there were all big for me."
Micah Smith also stated that after his commitment to DeShaun Foster's team, he has officially closed his recruitment. However, he still has a year remaining before he takes the field for the Bruins.
Nico Iamaleava will be eligible to declare for the draft next year. However, if he returns for his final year of eligibility, we might see the duo in action in 2026.
