After a strong finish to his college football career, former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Despite going much later in the draft than anyone expected, he now has an opportunity to play in the NFL.
Sanders participated in a rookie mini-camp after the draft. Some clips on social media encouraged fans that Sanders could be a factor for the Browns next season. He is now participating in organized team activities (OTAs), which started on May 27 and will run through mid-June.
On Saturday, Shedeur Sanders posted a photo dump on Instagram from the various practices he has participated in with the Browns.

After Sanders' post, his successor at Colorado, Julian Lewis, commented on his support.
"It's on twin," Lewis wrote.

Shedeur Sanders was not expected to go in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Instead, most media outlets projected him to be a first-round pick, some even having him go in the top 10. However, he fell to the fifth round before the Browns decided to select him.
Sanders had a successful college football career, showing consistency over four seasons. In his final year, Sanders completed 353 of 477 passing attempts for 4134 yards and 37 TDs.
Shedeur Sanders appears to be falling down the depth chart at Cleveland, according to a CFB analyst
While Shedeur Sanders fell in the 2025 NFL draft, there are still many fans and media members who believe he has what it takes to be a star in the NFL. However, he is in a tough situation in Cleveland because of its crowded QB room.
The Browns brought in veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett in the offseason and drafted both Oregon's Dillon Gabriel and Sanders. As a result, it will be tough for Sanders to earn playing time next season.
In an appearance on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on Thursday, analyst Jason McIntyre spoke about the former Colorado QB's situation in Cleveland.
"Despite all the hype for Shedeur, he’s the only quarterback on the Browns who wasn’t playing with the [first team]," McIntyre said. "The guy’s got ‘Be Legendary’ as his motto. He’s throwing really lavish NFL Draft parties. And he’s fourth on the depth chart, decidedly."
If Sanders stays fourth on the depth chart, there will be questions about whether he makes the Browns roster next season.
