While Thanksgiving is traditionally a day for people to put the everyday stress of real life down and enjoy being around the people they love, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a different idea.
As No. 25 Colorado Buffaloes (8-3, 6-2, Big 12) prepare to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-8, 0-8, Big 12), Shedeur makes every second count in training. Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens joined the Colorado star. The 50-year-old watched the young QB throw balls to the Colorado receiver corps.
Shedeur Sanders has 3,488 yards with 30 touchdowns. He’s one of Coach Prime’s top assets alongside two-way phenom Travis Hunter, and the Colorado duo is expected to light up the NFL when they make the jump in 2025.
Shedeur Sanders scouted by Giants GM in practice
For the last couple of months, Shedeur has been surrounded by NFL Draft rumors. Scouts are watching him closely ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in April. During a recent Buffaloes practice, New York Giants GM Joe Schoen was seen conversing with Coach Prime, giving rise to speculations about the Giants’ future under center.
Schoen's visit at the Buffs’ practice facility comes after the Giants released Daniel Jones last week, ending a disappointing chapter for the franchise. The team sits at 2-9 as quarterback struggles continue to plague New York. Neither Tommy DeVito nor Drew Lock has impressed as a long-term solution, making the upcoming draft crucial for Schoen and his staff.
The 22-year-old Colorado quarterback has had an exceptional run with Colorado, racking up 6,718 passing yards, 57 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in two seasons under his father's guidance.
For the Giants, who rank 28th in passing offense (2,067 yards in 11 games), Shedeur offers hope. With NFL-ready skills and the genes of the great Deion Sanders, the Buffaloes’ star could be the playmaker that the Giants need to turn their fortunes around.
