UNC GM Vince Lombardi shuts down speculation around HC Bill Belichick and GF Jordon Hudson: "Bunch of stuff being thrown up against the wall" 

North Carolina Tar Heels GM Vince Lombardi dismissed speculation about Bill Belichick, who took over as the coach in December, and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson. After winning eight Super Bowls in the NFL, Belichick is looking forward to success in the collegiate level.

However, the offseason spotlight has been on Belichick's relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend instead of his UNC debut. Hudson and Belichick went public with their relationship last year but have been under criticism for their significant age gap. According to The PEOPLE, Belichick met Hudson on a flight from the Boston area to Florida in 2021.

In April, Jordon Hudson went viral for interrupting Bill Belichick's interview with CBS Morning, leading to questions about her role in the UNC coach's life and the nature of their relationship.

However, Lombardi showcased his support for Belichick and Hudson's relationship. On Saturday, on ESPN Radio's 'Marty & McGee, he said that all of these reports are unwanted "noise" trying to hamper Belichick's image at Chapel Hill.

"I mean, a lot of it is just noise," Lombardi said (according Mike Florio). "And for us to be distracted by something that has no bearing, that has no relevance whatsoever, that's a complete falsehood, in terms of what people are saying or what they're writing.

"I mean, it's all just a bunch of stuff being thrown up against the wall. My job is to focus on North Carolina football, and Bill's job is to focus on North Carolina football, and that's what he's done, and that's what I've done. ... The noise out there comes from a direction of people trying to be disruptive within our program. We're not going to allow it."

During the CBS interview, Bill Belichick was asked by the host about his first meeting with Jordon Hudson. However, Hudson interrupted and said that the UNC coach won't answer personal questions, sparking criticism.

Bill Belichick defends Jordon Hudson amid speculations about her involvement with UNC football

Throughout the offseason, there have been reports about Jordon Hudson's involvment with the Tar Heels program. One such instance was Belichick reportedly asking the UNC staff to CC all official emails to his girlfriend.

Reporter Pablo Torre talked about how Hudson is banned from UNC's football facility following the offseason drama. However, Belichick defended his girlfriend amid the backlash and said that she has no role in the UNC program.

"No, she doesn't have any role in the UNC Football program," Belichick said (as per On3).

"There's been noise out there about a lot of different things. Again, our focus is day-to-day getting better, stacking good days together, having good rest and recovery, training, moving forward the next day."

UNC also confirmed that Jordon Hudson isn't an employee at the University. Meanwhile, her presence continues to grow because of her involvement in Bill Belichick's professional life and public image.
