#1 Pre-wedding photoshoot

The cute couple

Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech started dating a few years ago and the couple got engaged last year. Since then, the pair have dominated the news and kept their fans waiting with bated breath for their wedding. And that finally happened on Wednesday but not before some amazing pre-wedding photo shoot.

The pair look completely adorable together and this is a collection of photos that were posted by both Yuvraj and Hazel on Instagram. While the one with Hazel showing her mehendi looks candid, the other two pictures are completely adorable with the bottom right picture of the all-rounder kissing his wife on the head certain to melt the hearts of romantics all over the world.

#2 Getting ready for Sangeet

Yuvraj and Hazel welcoming the guests for their cocktail Sangeet

It all began on Tuesday evening when the pair kicked off their wedding celebrations with a cocktail sangeet at a hotel in Chandigarh. The pair look completely adorable in their respective attire and had an evening with close friends and family that they aren’t likely to forget anytime soon.

The function was also attended by the Indian cricket team, who finished their Test match against England, which was taking place in Mohali on the fourth day and were available to come in and wish their international teammate a happy married life.

#3 Taking some time to soak in the music

Who’s to say that the wedding should always be stressful

The rigours of a wedding can get to any couple. The amount of things that need to be done and places that the bride and groom need to be at are simply mind-boggling. But when you can relax and enjoy some music then there really isn’t nothing like it.

And Yuvraj’s Sangeet was no different as the cocktail event saw Angad Bedi, a very close friend of Yuvi, and Ayushmann Khurrana attending with singer Ranjit Bawa belting out some Punjabi tracks to entertain the guests, who were having a ball.

#4 Teammates everywhere

Indian teammates surround Yuvraj

One of the perks of being a national sporting icon, especially in cricket, is your teammates and while you share victory and defeat with them, it was nice to see that the Indian team, which was in Mohali at the time, found the time to make it to Yuvraj’s cocktail Sangeet.

Speaking after India’s win over England in the third Test, captain Virat Kohli said that the team will attend the function on Tuesday and they didn’t disappoint as you can see from the photo, which fails to fit the entire Test team, who were in attendance including Indian coach and Yuvraj Singh’s former teammate Anil Kumble.

#5 Scenic setting

A fitting venue for the ceremony

Having already said that the wedding would be according to traditional sikh customs, it was no surprise to see that the wedding took place at a gurdwara in Punjab. The ceremony which was solemnized as per Sikh traditional 'Anand Karaj’ took place at Fatehgarh Sahib village in Punjab.

Not only were the traditional ‘dholis’ and singers present outside as part of the celebrations but the venue itself was decorated for the occasion which was attended by Yuvraj's mother Shabnam Singh, relatives and a few close friends. One notable absentee was his father, who attended the sangeet who didn’t take part in the wedding ceremony.

#6 Wedding dress

The wedding attire

If there is one thing that always dominates the headlines in a wedding, it is the attire that is worn by the bride and groom. This wedding was no different in that regard. After much speculation, the wedding couple finally showed their wedding dress.

While Yuvraj sported a red Sherwani with cream coloured churidar and a red turban and ‘Sehraa’, Hazel wore a heavily embroidered Lehenga with shades of pink on her sleeves and her head covered with an embroidered dupatta.

#7 Arriving at the venue

Surrounded by plenty of friends and family, the couple made their arrival at the venue on Wednesday morning for the wedding that was to take place later. And from the number of guests that surrounded both bride and groom at all times, it is fair to say that there were plenty looking at their every move.

#8 A Grand occasion

The entire area was decorated for the wedding, which was as grand as it was traditional. Not only were there plenty of decorations apart from the lip-smacking food, there were also balloons, which made it a traditional, yet modern wedding.

#9 Friends and family gather around

Friends and family
A wedding is only truly complete if it is in the presence of loved ones

One of the best things about any wedding is the fact that it brings people together. And this one was no one different. Despite being a private affair that wasn’t attended by a lot of people there were still plenty of friends and family around to give the happy couple some company on their big day.

#10 All good things come to an end

The happy couple surrounded by the family

And it all ended with the happy couple bringing an end to a love affair that had lasted for years, firstly without the knowledge of many, then with a public announcement and an engagement, which culminated in the pair marrying each other in a gurdwara in Punjab in a traditional sikh way.
