Mohammed Shami earned a spot into the Indian Test team in the year 2013 on back of his phenomenal performances in the Indian domestic cricket. Shami has all attributes to be one of the best fast bowlers for India. His ability to swing the new and the old ball at pace is something he can boast of.

Shami made his Test debut against the West Indies in the year 2013 at the renowned Eden Gardens. Shami showcased his bowling skills to bag his first five-wicket haul in the second innings of the match, destroying the West Indian batting line-up.

He finished the game with figures of 9 for 118. Shami has picked up 128 wickets till now in his Test career, including three five-wicket hauls under his belt. He is looked upon as a replacement for the great Indian bowler Zaheer Khan, after whose retirement India have struggled immensely in the fast bowling department.
