Suresh Raina is a limited overs champion and has been a vital cog in the Indian team for over a decade. This southpaw has won several matches for his team and has amassed over 7000 runs cumulatively in ODI and T20I for India. He even had a dream start in Test cricket but failed to leave his mark after scoring a century at Test debut.

Suresh Raina was a child prodigy and was making waves at an early age. He was 15 when he first went on an Under-19 India tour. He made his Ranji Trophy debut at the age of 16 for Uttar Pradesh. The 'Border-Gavaskar Scholarship' and glittering performances in U-19 WC 2004 brought him into the limelight. He soon en route for his ODI debut in 2005.

Five years later in 2010, he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka. India was reeling under a heavy trail of the first innings when he walked out to bat. He scored a valiant century and weaved in a crucial partnership with Sachin Tendulkar, who scored a double century, to help India draw the game.

However, he failed to secure a regular place in the team since and later drifted away making way for other players. In 18 test matches in his career, Raina could only manage to score 768 runs at a poor average of 26.48.

Due to his poor stretch of form, he is presently not a part of ODI team. His comeback before the World Cup 2019 is seeming doubtful.

#3 Rohit Sharma

Every time a young talent is spotted in the Indian domestic circuit, the news about it travels faster than anything. Rohit Sharma is another child prodigy who had all the attention in his formative years. As termed by many, Rohit was a sublime talent.

He is an unparallel combination of elegance and fluent strokeplay. He is one of the few who makes batting look easy. In fact, he is one the leading six-hitters in the ODI cricket at the moment.

However, the start of his career was not easy and he struggled to find his place in the team. He was highly inconsistent with a few odd performances in between. He finally flourished when he was promoted to open the innings in ODIs in 2013.

His stellar performances led him into the Test team. He announced himself in the Tests with two centuries in the first two matches against West Indies in 2013. However, he later failed to perform with the same effect and was grafted out of the side.

Though he managed to sneak into the Test team on a few occasion, he couldn't impress the selectors for a regular spot in the team. Rohit Sharma has only played 25 Tests since his debut in 2013.

Rohit Sharma is now bestowed with another opportunity on the tour to Australia to prove himself in Tests. We are hopeful that he fares well this time.
