One player who is almost certain to miss out on the Asia Cup is Virat Kohli. Even though Kohli has been rested for a couple of series this year, the Indian selectors and team management cannot afford to take a chance with his fitness.
The Indian captain has been in spectacular form in England breaking record after record in each and every match. However, keeping in mind the fact that Kohli is also the captain, apart from being drained physically, he might be mentally drained too.
India has to play some tough cricket in Australia and New Zealand later this year. So, the selectors might be tempted to rest Kohli. However, India will play Pakistan in the Asia Cup and it will be interesting to see whether Kohli asks for a rest as he would want to avenge the defeat that India suffered against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final last year.
